The Magic Castle 2020: Knowledge Is Magic

Berlin's Best Winter Holidays

Sat 1st – Sun 9th February 2020

Sharpen your quills, take out your wands and get your robes ready. As the holidays begin the FEZ has removed the Magic Castle's anti-muggle spells. Come and see the amazing things that await beyond the castle doors. Is knowledge magic or is magic knowledge? Amazing adventures await the children who enter the Magic Castle during the winter holidays. Take on the role of young witches and wizards as you learn 40 magic subjects, create daring plans with your housemates, discover the nooks and crannies of Diagon Alley, fight to win the House Cup and hone your Quidditch skills. We look forward to welcoming all new students and seeing how you compare with the Harry Potters and Hermione Grangers of this magic world.

Meet in the Common Rooms and Make New Plans

Your house's common room will prove to be one of the most important in the Magic Castle. You'll meet other housemates, ask each other questions, make new friends and generally relax. It's also a good meeting point if you lose sight of your family and friends while deep in magical thought. New developments will be introduced here. New plans will be crafted here. And you'll need these plans because not everything is quite so peaceful as it seems. The dark arts are at work. They want to put an end to the days of magical education in a homely school. Look out for the strange scientists walking the corridors too.

The Magic Castle is in a constant state of change!

  • Unexected concerts and other secret events that will be announced as they happen...
  • New choir performances, bands and poetry slams
  • Extra magic lessons
  • A story for you to co-write
  • Daily House Cup competitions
  • Quidditch tournaments!
  • Award of OWLs, NEWTs and other accolades to top students
  • Award ceremony at the end of each day for the House Cup

Choose From 43 Magical Subjects

All of this and more in 40 different magical classes.

Quidditch FEZ-Style

Ever heard of Quidditch 2.0? Presenting a new version of Quidditch that allows witches, wizards and muggles to play the famous sport together. It's not just the Magic Castle that is opening its doors to everyone but the Quidditch pitch too. So, if you've always wanted to try the legendary sport of the wizarding world, come along and see if you've got what it takes to play in the Quidditch World Cup.
Hone your skills and maybe you can even take an OWL exam in magical sports.

Come dressed as a magician, wizard, witch, fairy or dragon.

Come dressed appropriately for a day at wizard school or as a magical creature and you might find your day will be even more successful!

What Else Is On

Throughout the school holidays, the FEZ Berlin holds many exciting events. Take a look in the FEZ Calendar to find out what else is going on!

Knowledge Is Magic

Once again there are some murky goings-on at the Magic Castle. You can feel how the atmosphere has changed. Forces are gaining power within the castle's walls. Dark forces who want to make major changes to the Magic Castle's reputation of honouring tradition yet embracing modernity. Dark forces who even want to put a stop to the magical education of young witches and wizards.
Unelected school councils have taken over the day-to-day running. Professor Tonks has been removed from her position as headmistress. Other much-loved teachers are worried about their positions. Strict rules have been introduced to replace the 'good old previous ways'. And who are those mysterious scientists pacing the corridors?
This is a call to all pupils of the Magic Castle. It's down to you to save the school and restore its proud place as the best magic school in the world.
Witches, wizards and muggles - get ready! The Magic Castle needs you!
